The Texol Midgeater teams latest report from the test site at the Inveroran Hotel, Bridge of Orchy
is that the midge menace has arrived around a month earlier this year. The results shown here
from June 8, 2005 from one Midgeater machine show an incredible midge catch of 340g, which
equates to around 3.5 million midges. Another two machines in the area performed equally as
well bringing the total catch to around 11.5 million midges in one day.
Even though the midges have arrived early, Midgeater and Midg-itä machines already in
operation across Scotland are controlling the midge menace for business, holidaymakers and
locals alike. Don’t let the early arrival of the dreaded midge ruin your summer, get equipped with
a Midgeater or Midg-itä.

The Midges at Loch Lomond can be sometimes be the most ferocious around and especially so on the Loch Lomond Golf course. The Scottish Open held at the beautiful and challenging Loch Lomond Golf course has been plagued by the dreaded Midge in previous years, feasting of some of golf’s biggest names as well as the 80,000 plus golf enthusiasts who attend the event.
At the 2005 event held July 7th to 10th, Texol took their answer to the Midge, the Midgeater Plus and recently launched, Midg-it to the Scottish Open with several machines scattered around the course all recording very healthy catches.
The picture shows a Midgeater Plus standing guard beside the practice area where it was hopefully contributing the quality of the pros’ intense practice sessions by driving a good few Midges away!

Golf courses, especially those in the Highlands and West of Scotland, tend to be Midge infested hotspots providing excellent environments for Midges to breed in large numbers causing misery to golfers.
So what better places to show off the power of Texol’s Midgeater Plus and its little brother, the Midg-it, and what better golf course to choose than the world renowned and superbly crafted Loch Lomond golf course www.lochlomond.com/main.html
Texol approached the custodians of the fantastically crafted course to ask if a few of our Midgeater Plus and Midg-it machines could be placed around the course and they were more than happy to oblige. Furthermore, pleased with their performance, it was decided that the 11 machines remain in place throughout the prestigious Scottish Open held there during July, 2005 www.barclaysscottishopen.co.uk |

The mounds by the Gulafjord marking the site of the Gulating have been silent for hundreds of years. It being the ancient meeting place where many important political decisions were made and the birthplace of the modern Norwegian governmental system. Norwegian sculptor, Bård Breivik created sculptures to mark the historic site
Unfortunately the site is also home to the millions of culicoides impunctatus, better known as the dreaded highland midge. Performances of theatre, dance and music are regularly ruined by the biting menace, until now, that is.
Texol's Norwegian distributor, Gunnar Bygnes, has been employed by the Norwegian Government to install 15 Midgeaters around the site. They were installed in June and will run continuously up to the official opening in August. |

From wilderness to coasts, farms to cities, "Biting Midges" are the scourge of Scotland. The good news is that there is now an effective weapon against the vicious biting menace – the Midgeater. This safe, silent and very effective midge exterminator is responsible for saving businesses throughout Scotland thousands of pounds every year.
