September 4th, 1998, saw the birth of Texol Technical Solutions Plc. Eighty three men and one lady subscribed over £400,000 of their own money to secure their future. There was an element of risk for the 84 original staff members; but their gamble paid off as Texol’s growth since has been widely acclaimed throughout the business sector as being truly remarkable. The entrepreneurial spirit that created the company has continued – a workforce now in excess of 200, an expansion of Texol’s sub-contract services into Electronics, Mechanical Assembly and Box Build to augment the Metal Fabrication operation. Major investment in state-of-the-art plant, systems, facilities and the most important asset of all, Texol’s people has realised Texol’s initial ambition of maturing into a one-stop-shop provider of complete Technical Solutions. Texol has now become established as a world-class technical solutions provider and last year saw the company evolve from being solely a service company to a product manufacturer with the introduction of Texol’s range of Gas Generators and the Midgeater which is now established in the global market. Texol Products are continuously developing 3rd party and Texol developed onto the companies Launchpad. The history of Texol has been an inspirational Scottish success story bucking the trend of many of the countries manufactures; Texol has proven that the Scottish entrepreneurial drive is alive and well and intend to lead the revival of Scotland’s manufacturing excellence from the front. |
